Who can apply

• Life science tools, diagnostics, software or services for drug developers (drug, biologic, cell and gene therapy developers are out of scope)
• Pre-seed to Series B, with a prototype and proof of concept in hand or close to it
• Raised no more than USD 25M in equity
• International companies welcome with a clear US market strategy
• Must be incorporated before the programme starts and attend two mandatory in-person events

What you get

• USD 250K for the finals winner, USD 25K for each of up to four finalists and USD 10K for the best video
• Mentorship from corporate partners, workshops and investor pitching
• A BARDA-backed VANGUARD track for up to ten biotools startups, with its programme fee fully covered

A non-profit accelerator and prize competition for companies building life science research tools, diagnostics, software and services used by drug developers. Startups headquartered anywhere, including India, can apply if they have a US go-to-market plan. Closes 1 Dec 2026; no closing time is published, so submit a few days early. No application fee, but accepted companies pay USD 15,000 (cash, two instalments, or a USD 50K SAFE) unless they win a scholarship or join VANGUARD.
